Firefox 3.6 Tabs Tips and Tricks

As Firefox 3.6 has been released it has come with some changes and improvements to tabs from its earlier version. Lets see some tips and tricks for Firefox 3.6 Tabs.

Open links in the far right tab
In Firefox 3.6 links opened from a web page open in a tab next to the current page to keep related content closer. Some users might not like this and would want to open new links in the extreme right tab. To achieve this do the following:

• Open a new Firefox tab and type about:config in the Address bar and hit Enter. You might be prompted for a security warning. Click I'll be careful, I Promise! button and proceed ahead.
• In the Filter search for browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent. Double click it and change its value to false.

Enable Tab Previews
If you like to see a thumbnail preview of tabs when you switch tabs using Alt + Tab, set browser.ctrlTab.previews to true using about:config.

Convert the list all tabs button (far right in the tab bar), set browser.allTabs.previews to true via about:config.

Yessss Its Friday - Drift N Burn 3

Drift n Burn3 is a basic flash racing game. On the main screen specify the Player name and hit ok.






















Once you have entered the Player name on the next screen you can play different races or change the options like turning Sound on/off, changing basic controls etc.

Incase you select Quick Play you will have to select the City where you want to race.

Just select whether you want to Race or Battle and its type.

Select the car you would want to race with. You can collect cars as you win races in the World Tour.

That's it. You are ready to race. Now the next depends on your skills whether you win or loose.

We always have a problem Organizing files, Synchronizing files between different machines, Sharing files with Friends and Family, Backing up files etc. Dropbox helps getting rid of all this problems. Dropbox provides you 2GB of storage space and if incase you need more space you can surely go for paid plans and increase the storage space upto 100GB.

For using Dropbox you need to register yourself with Dropbox, download and install their desktop application on each machine that you want to sync. Dropbox creates a folder on your machine which is used to synchronize the files between all the machines linked using Dropbox. 

File Synchronization

• Syncs files between your computer and the Dropbox server. Any other machine linked also gets sync'd automatically.
• Works on different Operating Systems like Windows, Mac, Linux.
• Automatically detects if any files are changed and starts synchronization.
• In case of connection dropouts automatically resumes the syncs.
• Only syncs the changed parts of the files to save on bandwidth. You can also set bandwidth limits.

File Sharing

      File sharing was never so easy before I started using Dropbox. Now I an share my files with few clicks.

• Files as well as Folders can be shared and the changes reflect instantly.
• A Public folder can be created using which you can create links and share the links.
• You can control who can access the shared folders. If you have already shared a folder and do not wish to share it with a person anymore you can kick him out and also remove the shared files from his computer.
• Gives you the ability to create sharable online photo gallery.

Web/Mobile Access

• You can access your Dropbox files from your Web account or using your Mobile.
• Edit, Delete, Rename files
• View photo galleries

Security

The main concern would be the security when you share your files with a third party. Dropbox is secure to use because of the following features:

• You decide with whom the file has to be shared.
• All synchronization and transmission of data is done over encrypted channel (SSL).
• Dropbox files cannot be accessed without your password and are stored in encrypted format on Dropbox's servers.
• Public folder files can be seen only by the people with whom you have shared the link. This links are not searchable.

DreamScene for Windows 7 - Set Video as Wallpaper

Using DreamScene you can set video files as your wallpaper in Windows 7. DreamScene was built in feature for Windows Vista but was removed from Windows 7. One of the drawbacks of having DreamScene is its heavy resource usage, but who cares if you have a powerful machine running Windows 7.

Installing DreamScene on 32 bit machine

• Download DreamScene for 32 bit Windows 7 machine by clicking here
• Right click the exe downloaded and click Run as Administrator

Installing DreamScene on 64 bit machine

• Download DreamScene for 64 bit Windows 7 machine by clicking here
• Extract the contents of dreamscene64.rar file to some location on you machine
• Copy DreamScene.dll to %windir%\System32
• Copy DreamScene.dll.mui to %windir%\System32\en-US
• Double click Dscene.reg to install the registry value for DreamScene
• Reboot you machine

Setting Video as a wallpaper
Once you have DreamScene installed on your machine and successfully rebooted the system. Right click the Video file you want to make your wallpaper and select "Set as Desktop Background"

The only drawback of using DreamScene is the Desktop icons text becomes invisible. But who cares!!! But yes, if you care for it you can just switch back to normal wallpaper or uninstall DreamScene.

• Delete DreamScene.dll from %windir%\System32 folder

Windows 7 God Mode

Windows 7 God Mode is nothing else but a trick to have all Windows settings in a single folder. You can change almost all windows settings right from changing mouse cursor to partitioning your hard disk from this folder. To enable God Mode follow the steps below:

1. Create a folder named God Mode (or any other name you like) 
2. Rename the folder and suffix .{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} Your folder name should be God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
3. The folder icon will change and will look like Control Panel icon.

Double click the folder to show the GodMode window.
